John Carpenter is an artist that requires no introduction, but why don’t we shoot for one anyway? As the director of horror and sci-fi classics like Halloween, They Live, The Thing, Escape from New York, Christine and more, Carpenter has long since cemented himself in the hearts and minds of 80s kids and beyond. The word ‘legend’ gets tossed around quite a bit in artistic spaces, but Carpenter is one of the rare few that feels like he has truly earned it with his illustrious career.

While Carpenter has always kept himself busy with other projects like his equally as heralded music career and his love for video games, the past few years have seen him slip into a much more relaxed, semi-retired status. It was big news when it was announced that he would be involved with the recent Halloween / Halloween Kills / Halloween Ends movies, acting as both executive producer and composer for the trilogy.

Carpenter is now back once again, not only as a producer and composer but as director for his new upcoming series, John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams. There’s a reason this guy can just slap his name on something and generate buzz – he’s just that revered. Carpenter will be directing only a single episode of the six-episode season but excitement is through the roof nonetheless. Check out the official synopsis and trailer below.
